Ensuring the Success of the Child, Empowering the Family, and Strengthening the Community
Food Insecurity is a common challenge for many Communities United, Inc (CUI) families… but this year was different. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, food insecurity in Massachusetts increased 55% from 2019 to 2020. Food insecurity rates during the pandemic were highest among adults with children. 42% of households with children experienced food insecurity during the pandemic.1
The CUI Food Program In order to support our children and families, struggling with food insecurity, we quickly mobilized a monthly food distribution program. Funded by our generous sponsors and donors, CUI has delivered over 1,500 meals since October 2020, and we’re still going strong!
Feast on Flavor On October 14th, celebrity chefs from local favorite restaurants lead participants through cooking demonstrations as they follow along at home!
Participating Chefs Bring delight to your home kitchen with delicious international cuisine expertly demonstrated by: Irene Li of Mei Mei, Dave Becker of Sweet Basil, Daniela DeSouza of Danny’s Cheese Bread, and Douglass Williams of MIDA.
