Please perform the following PRESCHOOL activities with your child
Activity 1: Have you ever seen a real coconut tree?
Draw your own coconut tree on a paper and color it with color pencils, markers, bingo paint or with your own choice of favorite art materials.
Do you see the letters of your name in the book?
Take another piece of paper and write the letters of your name (if you’re still learning to make your name, you can start with your first letter!). Color and decorate it with your own choice of colors. Can you cut your letter(s) out with scissors?
Actividad 1: ¿Haz visto un verdadero árbol de coco?
Dibuja tu propio árbol de coco sobre un papel y coloréalo utilizando lápices, marcadores, pintura o tu elección de materiales de arte favoritos.

Activity 2:
Let the letters of your name climb up on your tree, like the letters in the book.
Can you count how many leaves are in your own coconut tree?
Can you count how many letters are in your name?
How tall is your tree? How tall is a real coconut tree? (You can estimate/make a guess, and then look up the answer online!)
Can you use your five senses to explore a tree? How would you do that?
Actividad 2:
Permite que las letras de tu nombre escalen tu árbol como hacen las letras en el libro.
¿Puedes contar cuántas hojas hay en tu árbol de coco?
¿Puedes contar cuántas letras hay en tu nombre?
¿Cuán alto es tu árbol? ¿Cuán alto es un árbol de coco de verdad? (Puedes estimar/adivinar y después buscar la respuesta por Internet)
¿Puedes utilizar tus cinco sentidos para explorar un árbol? ¿Cómo lo harías?
Activity 3:
Go outside and hunt for the letters which you saw in the book. (e.g., billboards, banner, road signs, etc.)
Spread the letters of your name that you made on the floor and hop near each letter in the order that you spell your nam
Use a tray and fill it with rice. Trace and Practice the upper-case and lower-case letters on that plate of rice. For the idea, look at the link below:

Actividad 3:
Sal al aire libre y busca las letras que viste en el libro (ej. En carteleras, pancartas, señales de tráfico, etc.).
Esparza por el piso las letras de tu nombre que creaste y salte cerca de la letra en orden para deletrear tu nombre.
Usa una bandeja y llénala de arroz. Traza y practica como hacer letras mayúsculas y minúsculas en la bandeja de arroz. Siga este link para tener más clarificación: https://youtu.be/LbNrsEM2IOM. Si no tienes arroz, puedes usar cuentas, sal, o puedes ir afuera y dibujar en la tierra.
Activity 4:
How do you think the letters felt when they fell down? How do you feel when you fall down? Who helps you?
What are your feelings when you come out of your bed in the morning to say HELLO to the shiny, bright, yellow Sun?

¿Cómo piensas que las letras se sintieron cuando se cayeron? ¿Cómo te sientes cuando te caes? ¿Quién te ayuda?
¿Cuáles son tus emociones cuando te levantas en la mañana a decirle “hola” al sol brillante, deslumbrante y amarillo?
Activity 5:
Can you find any upper-case letters near you other than a book? Where can you find letters in your home?
Take a paper and make two columns on it. One is for upper case letters which you found and one for the lower-case letters. Now play the game Match the column. Match the lower-case letters with their own pair of upper-case letters.

¿Puedes encontrar letras mayúsculas cerca de ti que no sean de un libro? ¿Dónde puedes encontrar letras en tu casa?
Toma un pedazo de papel y haz dos columnas. Una columna es para las letras mayúsculas que encontraste y la otra columna es para las letras minúsculas. Ahora juega a “empareja las columnas”. Empareja las letras minúsculas con la letra mayúscula correspondiente.
Activity 6: Think of your own rhyme words like in this song.
